Government set the wage of all workers to increase equality, reduce poverty, increase standard living workers. Government also set the wage of all workers to prevent wage discrimination, because of their sex, race, religion and age.
ReplyDeleteHowever, if government set the wage of all workers, it will create some problems in an economy. Government tend to set the wage of all workers at the level which employees are able to fulfill their needs, this means the wage is not cheap. It will raise the cost of labour in all companies. If the cost of labour increase, companies will consider to employ more people and they may not employ as many people as before because it will increase the cost and reduce the company’s profit. If the companies cut the job of employees, it will increase the unemployment. Companies will also trying to cover the increase of their cost by increasing the price. This will lead to an inflation in the market. If there is an inflation, consumers will suffer because they have to pay more for goods and services. Since the consumer have to pay more, they will demand less for goods and services. As the demand falls, the companies will earn less profit or if this keep happening, some of the companies may be bankrupt and it will lead to unemployment. If the companies are making less profit or bankrupt, government will earn less revenue as the companies will pay less taxes.
As their wages is set by government, there won’t be any wage differentials. It makes the wage of skilled and unskilled workers are equal. It isn’t fair, because more skilled workers have to earn more wages as they are more productive on production. This will also reduce the workers loyalty, because usually employers raise the wages of workers who have worked for many years as they are loyal and have more experience and skill. As their wages are equal, there won’t be any motivation or incentive to work harder and they may not work as best as they can because they won’t earn more money. This will slow the production and it will damage the companies as they can’t sell more goods and services. If the companies can’t supply as much as the demand of consumer, consumer’s demand will not fulfilled and companies will earn less profit. And if the supply is lower than the demand, it will increase the price and lead to inflation. In the same manner, if the companies earn less profit they will pay less taxes to the government which will reduce government revenue, and if there is an inflation, consumers will suffer as they have to pay more.
Government should not set the wage of all workers, because it will reduce the workers motivation and incentive to work. It is not fair for making the wages equal, because many people have different skill and more skilled people deserve more wage. If the government set the wage of all workers, it will create problems that will influence the economy.

DeleteGovernment are responsible for the society, they take serious and risky decisions to help make the society better. Government interventions will be required to help the society when facing economical problems. Setting wages for all workers can be done by the government. By doing this government will be able to increase equality among the citizens, prevent unemployment, and forfend wage discrimination from happening.
ReplyDeleteGovernment has equal thoughts for every single person in the society without differenciating them from their race or religion. Hence therefore, setting wages can be done without any wage differencial of anykind. With the problems faced by the workers such as, difference in age, skill and ability, etc, it can be eliminated and instead increase the equility of the society.
Government should set the wages according to the needs of the workers in their daily life. They should be fair in setting wages and should be reasonable because if not it can intrigue the employees to strike. Other than that they have to set it according to the willingness and the ability of the business owners to pay. The negative side for not letting the government set the wages is that the business owners will have the complete right to set it according to what they want. It will not be fair to the workers because some owners will pay the wages as low as possible. With low wages, the demand and supply of workers will decrease and that will cause unemployment.
Equality are needed in the society to strengthen the bond between people. With the reasonable amount of wage per worker it can decrease racism, wage discrimination and strikes.

DeleteGovernment is the most important organization in a country, they can do things like increase or decrease interest rate, taxes and many more. Government have intervention in setting wages for workers in a region. Government set this wages with purpose to prevent wage discrimination that happen in a country like differentiate race, religion, color of skin and ethnic group.
ReplyDeleteGovernment in Jakarta just set the new minimum wage for workers in 2013 and by the new Governor of Jakarta, he set 2.2 million IDR for 1 worker in next year. This should be not happening because government actually doesn't have any right to set wages for workers. We can imagine if government suddenly set higher minimum wages for workers the private sector may disagree and strike the government.
In setting the wages of workers, government can't take one side decision they must talk and discuss this with all people that will be influenced by this decision. Wages actually set by the company, if government set this many bad things could be happen. Higher wage means costs of the workers increase and if the minimum wage that government made is can't be make by company, job cuts could be happen and national unemployment will increase because of company can't pay wages that set by government.
Actually it's good if government set the wages because the equality of all workers will happen but company must agree with the amount that taken by government. Company must pay by the amount that made by government if not maybe employees can do a strike to the company because company doesn't follow government rules and the company can be taken to court of this harm and the company can be forced by government to be closed until unknown time.
When government set the wages for workers, it means all workers will have same wages one with another. This thing is not fair because workers that have skill will be feel that they just waste their time to work in a company if their wages is same with their subordinate. Unskilled people or workers will be very grateful that they have same wages with people that skilled and this will make motivation of people that working in a company decrease.
When in a company there are some people that already work for many years and already in senior position they must have higher wages than their subordinate because if they have same wages they will do some bad things to the company and at the end it will be company's expense. Therefore company must very careful in set wages for workers and see the performance of these people in the company.
So, government can't set wages for workers and the company must be the one that set wages for their workers because they know how these people work, how these people behavior and etc. Government just set wages for workers that work in government official not for all workers in a region and the fairness will happen and equality will be happen too.

DeleteGovernment is a group of people that join in a organization which rules a politics, economics, and social science in a country. Therefore government has many duties to do especially in administrative of a country. They hold an important part to make the citizen wealthy. In the planned economy system they take fully control of the economic sector, but in the mixed economic systems they have to work together with the private sector to make a better economic condition in the country.
ReplyDeleteFor all those reasons, I’m not agreeing if the government set all the wages of the workers. The productions in the country consist of many different sectors that produce goods and services. Those sectors need different type of enterprise that owned by different personals. All the skills they have will influence the quality of the production. More skills they have mean more knowledge they have to increase the quality of the production. With all those skills the producer will produce the high quality outputs. Although the workers are help with the technologies and machines, they abilities are still needed to operate the technologies and machines.
Their skills are appreciated in the form of wages, more skills they have more wages they will got. So it’s unfair if the government set all the wages of the workers in the same amount. IF the government set the same wages to all the workers, the ability of the workers will be decrease because there is no motivation to increase more skills to get a better payment. Because their feel unfair of what they get they will show no care to the result of the product. If the products that made is in a bad quality, directly the demand of the society of the products will be decrease because they are not satisfied with the products that they bought. The competition of the imports will be decrease too. The government will get the impact of all the unsatisfied of the society. The impact to the government is the decreasing of their taxes, because taxes already applied in the society for a long time. If demand of the goods is going down, taxes to the government are also being decrease. Since all the goods which are sold in the market have the taxes, if there is one buying that goods, government will get no income from the taxes.
Besides controlling the economics of a, government still have to rules the other parts of a country like political, socials, etc. government has so many jobs to do so that the government will have no time to know what the workers need and what is good for the workers. The workers assume their wages as the praise for their works. If the government give the same praise to all the workers either they are lazy or diligent, the workers will feel unsatisfied. These will cause strike, demonstration and chaos in government. It is better for the government to make good policies to the wages of the workers, and not equate the wages for workers.

DeleteGovernment should set the wages of workers so workers have standard of living and better life for workers who have low wages .inequalities in the salaries of workers is often distinguished from gender,if women or men in general female workers are paid comparatively .The man workers considered be more powerful in work so the wages of man and woman relatively different.so the government actually should be able to regulate and set wages to each workers to make a rule that no gender difference in the wages so that the welfare of woman workers are also guaranteed.

Government set wages of workers with the hope can change condition of unfair wage for workers, because there are many workers who are not getting a fair wage and labor as well as those incurred by the worker only paid a low salary and not commensurate with what the workers do .Due to some working poor disproportionate salaries are so against them because they will not be able to live well if the workers are paid unfairly ,so by the government determined salary then their lives would be more secure with a salary commensurate with what they do and the workers can paid fairly.
with the salary set by government is expected also unskilled workers who are able to work even with a lower salary than those who did not have the skill,because in general a lot of workers who are considered low-skill and most companies pay the unskilled workers very cheap
With government's decisions to set salaries of workers ,the company owners also must be able to work with and willing to follow the wage rates set by the government ,because if the company doesn't want to follow the fixed wages that has been determined by government the rules made government will be in vain it is the coorperation of the company is very important.
Withe the provisions of the wages set by government could change for the better the lives of workers and could be more secure,workers are unfairly again, so the welfare of workers is assured.

Wage differencial is discrimination in the salary of worker.Example there is a pay gap betweeen male and female it’s not fair because in some country female’s wage is lower than male , the government cannot diiferenciete this example if female give the same productivity with male in the company they will payed the female lower than male it cannot be like this because the level of wage the companies have given to their employee it can affected with the productivity of the female workers , they won’t work hard if their wage lower than male and it will also impact with the income of the company and also will impact with the income of the country , the income of the country will decrease because the workers is decreasing , female workers will decrasing because they think even though they work hard their wages will lower than male . Also nowadays in indonesia there are many couples who divorce , it means they will live seperately , if the female work by their selves of course their exhusband won’t paid for their life again so if there is pay gap system how they will pay for their living cost not yet they pay for taxes , it won’t enough for their living cost not yet they have to pay for their childern education , if they cannot pay for their childern education means their childern cannot goto school and it can be affect with the country development in the future because this country cannot produce smart well trained childern. This can increase unemployment because female worker think their wage is different so even they work hard they will get low salary so they will lazy to work , and if they are not working it means it can increasing the amount of unemployment people this condition is happening to many poor people. It also can trigger strike from women because of wage differencial.
And wage differencial between people in village and in the city government should fix this because if people work in the village give better productivity than people in the city they can get salary same with the people in the city if their salary is lower than people in the city it’s not fair .
Also example cleaning service in hotel five stars get more salary then cleaning service in two stars hotel it’s not fair too because they equally cleaning service and it can be bad for two stars hotel because their cleaning services will go out from their job and will go to that five stars hotel because of higher salary.it can affected with the hotel if they have less cleaning service their consumers won’t be satisfied because of dirty place.
So government should not do pay gap system because it’s not fair with the women. Government should set the wage of workers , they should determenie they amount of wage they will pay to their employee from their productivity not from their gender or etc.

DeleteWage rate is a total amount of money paid by employers or companies to an employees. Wage can be measured base on per unit of productions or per period of work time. Minimum wage rate is the minimum standard of wages to be paid by employers and companies to the workers and employees working and being in the corporate environment. Minimum wage rate is too low value of the wages that must be paid by the company. Minimum wage is also standard salary,its does not include the value of money for food and transport allowance.

By setting the wage rate the government can help workers and employees to satisfy their basic needs. When the employees and workers receive higher wages it means they can fulfill their lives and the consumption increase also the saving can increase.The maximum wage rate can limit the posibillity of inflation in an economy in their country and the minimum wage rate can limit the posibillity of deflation in an economy of their country.
However, in Jakarta the governer agree to increse the minimum rage. He agrees to increase the minimum wage into 2,2 million that set by a government that set about wage rate.
But for some associations such as Business Associations Indonesia refused to increase the minimum wage to the workers and employees.Increases in the minimum wage is very burdensome for employers wage in 2012 was 1.9 million to 2.2 million in 2013. Employees with higher education also objected to the government's decision as to the enactment of minimum wage employees with the last education is high school will get a high salary. The government did not pay attention to the risks that will happened if the minimum wage is increased. Entrepreneurs who do not have sufficient funds will not be able to pay the wage of employees and layoffs will occur. That means the unemployment rate will increase and the production of goods and services will decline, but demand will continue to increase. with increased demand but supply decreased. If this situation happened then the scarcity of that goods will happen. If that happens then the price of its goods will increase higher.
But the government should set the wage for all workers because for the employees and workers deserve prosperity and a decent life. If the government set the minimum wage at a price high enough to help the lives of the apprentices. But the government needs to help companies that need financial help to pay the salaries of the employees so that employers do not choose to close down and move out of the country that have a lower minimum wage. If that happens the government will suffer losses, because of taxes received by the government will decrease.

ReplyDeleteGovernments do have the rights to control and set the wages of employees. Government has the authority to set labor wages in order to increasing employment, welfare among the community, provide a better life conditions etc.
Without government intervene on wages of employees, it can be more benefited for the hardworking employees, they can earn more and also for skilled employees. Through working wager rate, working per hour or paid for per unit of output than other lazy, unskilled and untrained workers. Workers might be less power to work, and therefore influence the business to collapse. Moreover, workers take big parts of the quality of the production.
However, as governments intervene in wages of employees, they can be sure all individual workers could receive fair wages equally at employees various jobs so there won’t any wages differential between or even gender pay gap for other workers. There will be no more discrimination for every each of the workers, by their difference such as their religion, sex, ages etc. Fair for all the employees, so this will reduce the unemployment. It will motivate to workers to work. Firms will also be benefited, they can avoid the differential of wages in every each of their employees, all employees get same wages and it might be increasing of their company income rises without reducing cost or cuts jobs.
This will so much help to reducing poverty of employees income or wages, especially for those who have big family and even more if there is just one of the family members who is working alone and this is so unfair, their earning will not capable enough for their livings.
With this help of governments wage determination, they should be more aware to the necessity of the all the worker. They have to set in wages in amount that could fit all labor, don’t set wages to minimum or maximum too. If government didn’t set wages with consciousness behavior so it will cause strike by all of the employees that will overcome wage inflation. If unions become too powerful they can bargain for higher wages, above the rate of inflation. Force wages to be too high, then they may cause unemployment too.
Also for the companies they have to set with regard of their profits without losing it, due to see their industrial wage differential conditions. See if their still enable to pay all of their workers and keep balancing between the changing of demand and supply of the production of goods and services.
So, to prevent such of these unfair situation, like different pay gap between other workers, increasing unemployment, poverty of income of employees.
Government should intervention in wage determination is by taking part in the unions and collective bargaining. It would be more benefited if the set of wages, government pay attention for the firms also like mentioned it before, with regard of their profits so they won’t loss income of the firms.

ReplyDeleteHowever, there’s a side effect of set the wages by the government. When they set wages, it caused problems throughout the country. Problems like when the labour costs are raised equally employer will employ fewer employees and cut jobs to maintain their profit. That would be the first problem of unemployment that would happen in the country. When wages equally increases, company would start find way to overcome losses, such as create new work time, increase prices on goods or services, and maybe decreases fringe benefit which is the benefit paid in cash or kind from the company. They also will move towards the capital intensive to reduce losses or to maintain their profit as machine will be more efficient for the company.
When the prices increase it would affect all the consumers. Not all of them can afford those goods or services if the price increases. This effect of increase in wages will spread through the country and company will start to cut jobs, and increase prices. Since the increase prices of goods and services increase generally, inflation is starting on that country. Inflation means that real incomes are less, and consumer will suffer of the increases prices.
When consumer suffers from the high prices, company may as well suffer of bankruptcy. The reason is the consumer can’t afford and company would start make losses, and then economy starts falling and government falling. A domino effect will happen here.
The other problems like when the labour cost equally decreases it can cause unfairness for the skilled workers. Skilled workers are trained to earn more wages. However, if the government does decrease wages skilled workers would be upset and start strikes. In the same manner, if the government set the wages to become equal for all the wages from the equilibrium of the supply and demand graph for employees will also cause problems. Skilled and unskilled labour will have the equal rights for wages. It is unfair to do so, skilled workers did a splendid jobs and unskilled labour are doing untrained job in the company.
Skilled workers may have their work down because they were motivated by the increase wages for their productivity but the unskilled workers won’t do their best because they’re satisfied with the wages they have. Skilled workers trained hard to have their rights of high wages. Some of them maybe studies overseas or international school. This should have never happen because when the productivity of the company goes down their profit will decreases as goods and services are less in the market. This can make the problem of bankruptcy that will affect unemployment because they create losses.
So, government must consider preventing the set of wages. It can create problems, economic problems throughout the country. Company will use go to capital intensive. Domino effect may happen, consumers are suffering, companies are falling and economic are falling. Inflation will come, prices increases. Unfairness for skilled and unskilled workers and work decreases, productivity decreases.

So wage also is an income for employee, after we get the wage (gross income) it must be deducted with taxes for government and it become disposable income or real income.There is also rate of pay based on per unit of production or per period of worktime in a job called wage rate, usually it decided by the company involved.

First, In this era there are so many people works, not only men but also woman. Especially in Indonesia, because of the high population and demands of worth living, they have to work hard. But in some condition there is still many companies / people that make difference in the wage rate based on their gender, ages, even religion. This discrimination can causes bad effect for some people especially for them discriminated.
Example if in one companies, all the employee have to do the same thing but the employees have different gender, they spend same force, and same skill but why all the women get lower wages? They will find it was so discriminating and disadvantages them and they choose to quit from the job. If they quit from this job the companies will lack of labour, and the price of market labour will increasing. It will affect demand of the companies, because if the labour price too expensive they can’t sufficient the labour needs and if there is a narrow of labour there will be slightly producing goods/services and the prices of the goods/services will rising. The consumers are unwilling to buy the same goods/services with higher price and so it become company ‘s loss.
i think government is the right people to be responsible and change this condition so they can make their people prosperous by make the same wage rate, this think will reduce poverty usually in some developing country. If the poverty reduced there will be better living condition ( good health)
I think in some condition, for the people who work longer than the other who get higher wages, we can set the wages all the same and maybe give bonus to the longer one. So it will attract employee to work hard without feeling discrimination.
So the conclusion is government should set the wage of all workers, and if it is to low the companies should give some fringe benefits so it won’t burden them and if it possiblle the wages have to be deducting with the taxes so their revenues won't reduce.
